RSA Animate – The Internet in Society: Empowering or Censoring Citizens?
Evgeny Morozov’s RSA Animate looks at internet freedoms and proliferation from a global perspective and critiques the assumption that internet access will result in democracy. Specifically, he discusses some very interesting things about the myths surrounding internet freedom, the realities of how different governments have adopted newer technology, and how most people actually use the internet (Spoiler alert: it may or may not involve cat videos).
