Kilian Martin & Brett Novak – Electricity Inside (About a Skate Video) is a slight twist on Brett Novak and Kilian Martin’s skateboard videos. Instead of Brett directing/filming/editing and Kilian skating, the two sat down with The Avant/Garde Diaries and gave a little peak into how they go about doing the incredible things that they do. My personal favorite moment is when Kilian starts talking about how he thinks of new skateboard tricks at work and then writes them all down the second he has a chance. That shot of his notebook? Incredible.
If you’re unfamiliar with Brett & Kilian’s skateboard videos, I highly recommend starting with Altered Route. It is a uniquely incredible skateboard video and, even if you’re not a skating fan, is well worth watching. If you’ve already seen Altered Route, then you should take some time to watch Kilian Martin: Freestyle Skateboarding, Kilian Martin: A Skate Illustration, Kilian Martin: A Skate Escalation and Kilian Martin: A Skate Regeneration. They are all excellent.
